__________ is a laser treatment that reduces the appearance of cellulite. Laser energy is used to disrupt trapped pockets of fat, release fibrous bands that pull down on the skin, and stimulate collegen growth for thicker, more elastic, and healthier looking skin. This is not a treatment with instant results. Results may vary between 3 to 12 months, depending on the individual.
A small tube (cannula) is inserted under the skin which delivers energy directly under the skin. This in turn increases the depth and quality of your skin, while simultaneously releases the fibrous bands that pull it down - minimizing the "orange peel" look associated with cellulite. The laser diminishes the lumpy pockets of fat that protrude through the fibrous bands under the skin. The procedure can either be done under local or general anesthetic depending on the size of the area.
The area treated will be tender, however most patients return to normal activities within a week. The patient can expect bruising to the area, ranging from mild to severe. Many patients have also experienced pruritus (itching) of the skin.
